An illustrated bookmark printable with a tutorial that I posted on my Dinosaur blog. Thought it would be relevant here too :)
Hello friends! Some time ago, I posted a picture of a bookmark that I made with my dinosaurs on instagram, and asked if you guys would like a printable version, and lots of you said yes, so here we are!
[I’m going to ramble now for a bit so scroll down to the bottom of the text post to download the printable!]
Now, this is a page corner bookmark - basically, it has a pocket that you can slip the page into, and it’ll hold the page until you decide to get back. These are my favourite kind of bookmark because they’re not as easy to lose as the usual long bookmarks, and they don’t crease the book the way dogearing does - I loathe it when that happens!
Anyhoo, there are lots of tutorials for these babies online, and while trying to come up with the printable, I noticed that almost all the printables needed stuff like scissors and glue. Like, ain’t nobody got the time for that!
I’m always losing my scissors and glue at the workplace, and since we’re all besties I figured that the situation might be similar for you guys too, and so - THIS PRINTABLE DOESN’T NEED ANY OF THAT. All you need is to print it out (it’s office printer friendly cause it’s just black and white) and cut the square shape out. I used this paper blade that was lurking in office, but you could just use a ruler, or even just follow the fold, crease and tear method - whatever - just get the square. After that, the instructions are pretty simple to follow - if you’ve made a lot of paper boats when you were wee, then this is very simple to follow. I’m origami challenged myself, so trust me. Colour in the heart once you’re done and book mark away!
Once you get the hang of these you’re going to be making lots! Make sure you read as many books :)
If you made it and liked it, make sure you post a picture of the book mark and tag us! (on Tumblr or on Instagram)
